Hi All,

I am looking for a deskjet printer which can print Digital photos from 4X6 to 8X10 or more size.

Few deskjets which am aware of are as follows:

** HP Deskjet 6122
** HP Deskjet 3820
** HP Deskjet 5550

Can anyone help me in knowing that whch could be the best one, if not from above , then any other. Am totally confused !!!

Cheers
Ashish

Well my preference would be to get an epson as HP arent all that great, ink wise. Epson are expensive but they do awesome photos, i had one done on proper photo paper at a kodak shop and then printed out a copy from my epson stylus 670 with glossy paper and i couldnt tell the difference.

I've got a HP948c and I'm very happy with it, I got it specifically for photo printing. I mostly print 8x10 it's max size. I get the ink cartridges refilled to reduce running costs by about 50%, with no noticable loss of quality.

Good luck, Peter

I've got an HP Photosmart 7350. It really does a great job on 8X10's. I had a cheapie Epson which printed pictures great, but it was too noisy for my taste.

The printer you choose would probably be influenced by how much you can afford. One feature you might consider is how fast the printer prints (pages per minute) in color, and the cost of inkjet cartridges (and whether you can purchase refill kits for them).

Since I must also use my printer for work, I have an all in one device - print, photocopy, fax, and scan - the HP OfficeJet T65. I have no complaints with this one - it prints color photos up to 8x10 very well. It scans photos very badly, but that doesn't matter to me as I have a flat bed scanner.

Also consider - print quality can also be affected by the quality of paper that you use. I personally use the Kodak Ultima High Gloss and Epson Heavyweight Matte picture papers, and am very happy with the results. I've read that one should use paper manufactured by the same manufacturer as the printer for best results, but in my area, the HP paper is more expensive than the Kodak or Epson paper

Hope this helps.

Linda
