About a month ago I bought a canon 15mm fisheye lens and I love the thing. I have talked to many people and most of them told me that it had limited use. I happen to think that the only the lens in only limited by the users creative mind. Has anyone else ever played around with a 180 degree fisheye lens?

You can take a million different great photos of a million different things... but too many fisheye pics are boring.

You can pass some pictures taken with it in a fish-eye converter softeare, to get a two pictures wide, panorama, with out problems with stitch software.

I agree... But I have found out that the same is true in reverse. You can sometimes take a very boring situation and make it look outstanding with the fisheye lens.

I have been in the market for a good wide angle lense for about 2-3 months now. What is a good one to get for a decent price. I currently own a Canon 10D with a Tamron 28-300 lense. Also, I think I suffer from shaky hand syndrom. Do the Canon Stabalizers help out a lot?

Sorry about the spelling.. :)

I think that one of the most popular photos around here was taken with a fish eye:

I just bouht a new canon 28-135mm lens with IS. This lens is great because it is under 400.00 and with the is you can take sharp pictures in low light down to 1/45 of a second.

I have this lens too and agree that it is great, but not really all that wide, once you consider the crop factor makes the wide end ~45mm, which is basically a "normal" lens.

If you want wide, try the Sigma 12-24 lens. It's rectilinear, no fisheye distortion. I posted some examples in this thread earlier.
