It really, really is a great camera and very affordable nowadays but for about the same price you could alternatively get a Canon 60D and win many, many more ribbons. :) hehehe

Well, I got 6 out of 10 of the ribbons for the Canon 7D.

But to sell one's soul for a few virtual ribbons just doesn't seem right.

Frankly, as I am constantly being told by my Canon-totin' bf, Canon does tend to have a lot more lenses to choose from than Nikon, so I think that's one of the big reasons that it's such a fave. And you do see lots of pros using them at sporting events, they always show the sea of white L-series glass at all/any football game.

So just more exposure all around seems to be the reason for the skew imho.

Dont get me wrong but I think Canon and Nikon make very good cameras and lenses. I expect their are more Canon users on here than anything else because they are so popular from their bottom end to the super high end cameras. So you would expect to see Canon users win a majority of the ribbons, I just find that one camera winning 30 ribbons in that short of time outstanding. The next 4 cameras have to equal that of the Mark II.

interesting. Looking at this great statistic one could conclude that Nikon D50 is a better camera than the Nikon D3x, since D50 won a ribbon and D3x did not.
Also my conclusion is than Canon's new EOS -1D X is a total junk since it still has no ribbon and its been a couple weeks since the announcement by Canon.

I got a blue ribbon in July 2011 with a Nikon D3x. That is within 100 challenges yet the D3x is not listed in your stats, so it is the same as a D50.
