Check it out. I put in a couple of awesome tunes, at least. This one is much nicer than my first, in the head area anyway, I think. I had some disconnect with the body.

This was meant to be a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law, but my wife is getting over-attached to my carvings and wants them all for herself. :-)

I sanded and stained my first carving and it looks great. I think this second one will be even better, after I leave it alone fore a few weeks then stain it.

Check out the video here. I also sanded it today. Just have to let it dry for a couple of weeks, then I can stain it.

I'll add a photo of the last one here tomorrow. The wife got some button eyes for him today.

suggestions:

1. play these at double-speed (not the music).
2. make a bunny rabbit next time.

Awesome! You're pretty handy with that chainsaw. Love the music, too.

Bunny fetishists! Are you implying I have troubles with bear ears? :-P

might be an idea to get a stihl helmet with full face guard and ear defenders

we work with saws nearly everyday upto the big stihl 660 with a 48" bar and having had a chain come off and whip rd and nearly castrate me kevlar trousers are a must,i wouldn't use a saw nowadays without face, ear and leg protection....

nothing like that bit of saw dust in your eye bothering yo for a week haha,

Ooh, that's a concern for my quality of life! I have chainsaw chaps, but they don't cover my nether region.

I use Stihl in-ear earplugs. In the ratings they blocked more decibels then the ear muff style. I should ask Santa for some face protection. I wear safety glasses, but do tend to get my face in line with the chain. I'd rather tear my face apart than my nethers, though. Kevlar jock?

Yeah wif nasty pointy TEEF! I'd want it in my front yard!!

ETA: There is/was a bomb-removal suitmaking place in Ottawa, their name escapes me at the moment. But maybe they could send you a leftover kevlar codpiece.

Or, email Gene Simmons...now that he's actually married, maybe he'd sell you one of his old studded ones? ;-)

ETA II: Med-Eng Ottawa. Google them. Good luck protecting the family jewels!

A friend of mine years ago was cutting a tree when the chainsaw bounced back and cut him in the face, mouth area. He lost his feeling, he wasn't able to feel things when kissing, or so the story goes.

Cool Slippo. My grandaughters loved the music.....thought I had gone to the wild side.

Okay, Slippy, get the good stuff out of the way first.

FANTASTIC job on that lil'ol'saw of yours. Might say you even know how to use it!
okay, then:
Pretty nice video you got going there. You even had me (almost) dancing in the streets.

BUT!

Just who got to clean up the back yard? Eh?
and
Did you ever turn on the heat so your wife could stay warm?

Dang it, if you're not there (and it varies), I just might have to put you on my Favorite Photographer list again.
IF the heat is working at your place, that is.
:)

That's what kids are for. They collect all the scraps into a bin for the fireplace.

We turned the furnace on briefly last week, but it's off again now. Still pretty warm out, just need to put on a couple of sweaters.

Good stuff !

I doubt I'll ever get past cartoony-looking carvings, but I like them. :-)

it was more to inspire than any intentions to humiliate, and like i say the guys a sculpture hes obviously used more than just a chainsaw on them.
