I didn't feel singled out Robert. I'm quite proud of my voting record. Having not voted on all of the images in a challenge but one time out of all of the challenges I have cast votes in (over 54,00 votes to this point.). I wouldn't have undertaken this new to me method of voting if I wasn't sure I could complete the task. It just wouldn't be fair to any of the entrants in the challenge. I will say that this method is more time consuming and I may not employ it again in challenges where the number of entries is very large. That being said... I shall commence to finishing what I started.

I can only vote 20% due to data costs so did not use Bear's method as it wouldn't be fair! I vote 20% as they come up and then cherry pick a few that realy catch my eye.

Someone just gave me a 2... I hope it's a very late categorised-voting voter >:(.

Anyway, since my votes are now final if anyone wants a critique on their image just message me letting me know which is yours and I'll happily oblige.

I also got a low score. A 3, apparently.
Still, looking like a FS-PB!

Higher I hope? :-)

What's category '3'?

Also, I dislike this voting scheme, cause my program cannot figure out which votes were adjusted! :-)

My 3 vote was anything that was not animal, landscape or portraiture.

I wont be doing this again, i thought i would try it out but its a lot more time consuming than my normal voting.

What stinks is not just the 2's and 3's etc on better than average images, but in this FS (and in most of the other challenges) is that less than half of those people that entered an image, voted. That's pathetic. In my case 139 votes out of 310 entries. Good chance that a few of those 139 voters didn't even enter an image themselves.
I don't buy the "I entered an image therefore I cannot be objective when voting" argument either. FFS you're not voting in the next board of the IMF or Apple inc. It's a photo competition. Force yourself.
If you entered but didn't vote at least the minimum required of 20%, your entry shouldn't count either, not just your vote not counting. Yes yes you will get the 20% min required voters just repetitively clicking 5...and all the other made up stats to prove a point. What's the old saying? You get the government you deserve? 20% voter turnout chooses the next government...

Interesting how many have not said they have an average score of 7 or 8...

8+ is almost unheard of in a FS. Those that are getting a 7+ don't want to Jinx themselves so they stay quiet..

I use the only tool we have, voting, to sort the images. Usually, the categories I use are Landscape, People, Animals, Flowers unless there are a lot of something like Macro or BW & then I sort that category too. I use the higher end of the scale to do the sorting. Then I rank each category. Then I rank by score. The good ones get shuffled to the top. The not-so-good-ones get shuffled down. My lowest score is a 4. Best in Show, ends up in the 10-Rank. I award the Gilded Lily to my favorite flower shots. I think I would vote only Flower shots, if ever there were 20% flower shots, but this never happens. Because I vote this way, I would be grateful if there was a "next" button, so that wherever I am, I could go to the next shot. I refuse to thumbnail-vote, so I have to click a lot. Yes, it takes extra time but I like it. I'm also sure this idea did not originate w/me, but that lots of people vote this way. Which would explain why landscapes so often end up on the front page because it would be possible to vote only landscapes in every FS & still meet the 20% cutoff.
