Fotolia plays games with the W-9 form. They say your W-9 doesn't match what they and the IRS has on file. (But they won't be specific about what doesn't match.) I've used the exact same W-9 with many other firms, no problem. Fotolia is playing games. And apparently, they are doing the same with a lot of other contributors. I spoke to an employee, who said in an unguarded moment, they don't really care about photographers.

You have been warned.

Not surprised at all. Couple years ago they tried to get me to fill out a W-9, but guess what, despite giving them exclusivity and getting some sales, I never received a penny in payment from them, ever, just credits. So how the hell was the IRS going to get me, I wonder? So I yanked all my images. Sucks to be them.

How much do they owe you? I'm thinking about suing these bastards in small claims court. More because of the principle than the money.

I guess I will deal with it if I ever accumulate enough downloads to earn a payout.

I've had 3 payouts from them. No problems. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I first thought this was an angry boyfriend thread.

I've never had trouble getting paid either. However I've seen an incredible drop in income there over the past year. I admit I haven't submitted much this year, but the drop has been far worse than at any other microstock site I belong to.

No problems receiving payments. Over $1600 + . Has slowed dramatically lately though.

Hmm good question, probably not much. I think about $20 total...yeah, I was just rolling in it while I was there :-/ Also I'm in Canada so would that not make it an international incident?
