That is disgraceful.

From her iPhone? What a hypocrite! Every kind of stupid. Get a new hobby, please! Preferably a quiet one.

Maybe a few more people will realize their followers are completely insane. "Phelps responded to widespread criticism of her using the iPhone to Tweet the messages, saying that the phone was created by God–not Jobs–for that purpose."

I saw that too. But got angry at their logic before posting here.
They claim the iPhone was designed for their... "evangelism" but their initial tweet thistles he did nothing for God.
Whatever. Probably best to ignore them and just be surprised I didn't think they'd do it on the first place.

Isn't this group like a hundred people in Kansas? I'd wait to see it actually happen. It's much cheaper to threaten to go on twitter and then get the publicity from links like yours. Shannon noted properly they are insane. Best just to ignore them.

NPR's Talk of the Nation is replaying his entire 2005 commencement speech at Stanford.

So do a lot of other people.

Very controversial dude, that’s for sure. Will be plenty of 'Sorry i could not attend the funeral, but I do approve.'

For, me, Jobs and apple gave me the chance to produce an app and put it on the market. To see if what I thought people wanted, would be what people wanted. It wasn't, but by seeing how he faired, I know there is always a version II if I can learn from my mistakes.

Knd of sets a mood he is free now

There is a 1996 interview with Steve Jobs posted as part of today's Fresh Air program.

Did he decide to do anything with all his money? I've never heard about his philanthropic goals.

Good question. Especially considering his remarks about how facing death makes you know what is really important in life.

I think I'm only reacting to my facebook wall which looks like Ghandi or Pope John Paul died...

I really had no idea about Jobs' giving, so I googled it and came up with this article in the NYT from a month ago. It's too bad. He was in the position to do some truly good things (as opposed to just doing successful things).

Well let's hope that he made arrangements privately to have a legacy of giving on top of his legacy of Apple. To make your sole focus your work would be a disappointment. As an innovator in the tech business he was at the top of the game and the accolades he is getting are well deserved. But I do hope for more.

I watched a documentary, and its more like 20 people total.
Its basically two families with their many kids, and thats it. So basically, the entire "Church" is like 5 original people and then their offspring that they brainwashed by homeschooling and raising in that freaky environment...who are now having more offspring to brainwash.
Poor kids.

The Westwhodidwhat church? I won't even dignify their actions/comments with an emotion...life is too short (as we have witnessed). R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

I personally don't care if he leaves all his mean green to his wife and children. I personally would donate a ton of mine to take care of very sick or injured children.

I believe his funeral is due to be held next week - according to family members he didn`t want it to be a Flash affair.

Interesting article, I like this quote "Apple has been one of “America’s least philanthropic companies,”

I guess we will never know how philanthropic Steve Jobs was but by all reports he held his cash close.

Another billionaire bites the dust!

He famously only got paid $1 per year to be Apple CEO. All his wealth is just the value of his stock options (around $8 billion iirc)

At least Jobs made a positive contribution to society. Unlike Pope John Paul.

I just watched a movie last night called "The Pirates of Silicon Valley" It was about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates rise to success. Depending on how true to life the movie was, Steve was actually a very mean guy in the beginning. He denied that Lisa was his daughter until after he got fired from Apple by the CEO he put in place. He also gained much of his success (initially) from "stealing" (they actually gave it away) quite a bit of stuff from Xerox. Then Bill Gates stole it from him for microsoft and ultimately IIBM. During his time away from Apple he sort of "grew up" and when he went back to Apple in 1994 he was a different man and turned apple around to what it is today.

If I remember correctly, a guy working for Xerox pretty much invented the whole potato....eve DOS which was sold to Gates for about $10,000....I could be mistaken though.

EDIT: Nope.... DOS was written by a guy named Tim.
