Don't get me wrong...

I think that Istock is a great stock site, with great photos. And I completly understand that with a growing number of photos submitting to stock that the sites are more picky about the photos they accept.

But for godness sake... do they have to be so stuburn?

About 80% of my recent photos have ben rejected for stupid things like the model release don't have the model id card or the model birthday date, when photos submitted with the same model release where already accepted. I've even know that sometimes the same photo that where rejected if submitted again exactly the same it could be accepted withought any changes. It doesen't make sense.

But specially the small upload quantity of photos you can submit per week. is it viable to put a good online portfolio with it? For example the same photos that where rejected were al,oust all accepted in Shutterstock, and I was told that this was also a very selective sito with photo quality.

What is your opinion regarding this issue?

Did you give up any stock site due to the dificultie in uploading or any related issues?

Stuff like missing the model's ID or birthdate don't seem like small things to me either..... If 80% are rejected then it seems like an easy fix - no?

If it would be a low to non earner agency, then just stop uploading. But iStockPhoto brings in to much money. They are worth your time spend. Maybe it does not look like it when you start with them, but over time after you profolio has grown with them, it will be worth it.

Thanks for the comments.

It's not hard to solve the issues but it's not practical. I would have to make new model releases and to ask the models to sign them again. I have a lot of sessions that I could take some photos to stock sinse I have the model releases signed.

I'll just put the info they want from now on in the MR, like birthday and id.

Wouldn't this negate all the new Model Apps that are floating around on the phones and pads?

IStock does not accept digitally created or digitally signed model releases. This includes using script fonts as signatures, e-signatures, or scanning signatures and then pasting them into the release.

Are they making you mail in the original? Otherwise, how can they tell? And if they are, that's a bit of a pain if you want to submit the same photo to other sites -- maybe you can make them mail back the original after they make themselves a certified copy ...

I think Istock is really overlookin in to this.

The same model release that I have is being accepted in Dreamstime, CanStockPhto, Fotolia, 123RF, Pixmac and Shutterstock.

Th eonly issue (in Dreamstime ans Shutterstock) is with nudes. the refused a few images because the MR don't have a picture of the ID card of the models. Besides thaissook. Even Istock have accepted imeges with this MR before to me.
