Updated 03-Oct-2011 in light of official PINK challenge...

October 17 - 31, 2011 - starts after voting on the official PINK challenge is over.

This side challenge is to support breast cancer research.
Expert Rules - Entry must contain something pink.
Soft maximum of 3 entries per user.
No need to sign up. Just submit entry. Donation per entry towards breast cancer awareness / research suggested.

Potential for 2012 calendar / collage book from entries - profits would go to research. Submitting is giving permission to publish / have your shot included in the calendar or book. I reserve editor rights for published work (if any) - suggestions & input are sought & welcome!

Also, as a courtesy to the other participants, a thoughtful comment on two entries for each entry of yours would be nice...

I reserve right to modify challenge as we go.

Are we to be limited to one entry each, or as many as we like with donations made?

I don't want to limit it to one entry per person - but don't want to wade through tons of shots either. Let's set a soft limit of 3 per user.

Now that there is an official Pink challenge, should we drop this one?

I would say make it a two week thing instead (after submission & voting is over for the offical challenge) or else you might violate some site rules for outtakes. Just my opinion of course.

You are correct. :-)

Wait until the current challenge is over, then resume this -- there should be a fairly sizable bump in submissions since people will have their out-takes available.

I'll be happy to join in here after the challenge, if that's the way it needs to be done.

Agreed. I'll modify the op.

This was shot last month so let me know if that is unsuitable. Donation to Breast Cancer Awareness in Australia.

You're the only entry so far. Perhaps you'll be an inspiration to others.
Your image is very nice, and very appropriate.

I wish I could make peace with the idea that one cancer is worth so much more attention than all of the others put together.

Isn't the idea of Movember about prostate and other male cancer? We should do another challenge with mauve, or add moustaches to all sorts of strange subjects. Matter of fact I'm off to the challenge suggestions right now.

Yes, and breast and prostate are two of the most 'curable' cancers.
