I'm looking at getting a wide angle lens. Trying to choose between the
Sigma Super Wide Angle 20mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF RF Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS
or the
Super Wide Angle CANON EF 20mm f/2.8 USM Autofocus Lens

Or is there another lens i'm missing in this class? Any suggestions helpful.

Sigma 10-20 and Canon 10-22 are common choices for this segment, as well.
Both have a very established respect and liking.

ETA: Note there are two versions of the Sigma 10-20, one with a constant aperture (more expensive) and one without.

I really don't know anything about the 2 lens you have listed -- but I put my vote in for the canon 10-22. It's an awesome lens, and the zoom gives you a lot of flexibility that I think you'd be missing from the fixed length.

I really like my Sigma 10-20 a lot. I've never used either of the lenses you mention, but if it's a prime you're after, I like the fact that the Sigma is f/1.8. I really miss being able to get shallow dof on my zoom.

Just to confuse the issue further for you, don't rule out the Tamron 10-24. It runs about the same price as the Sigma. Its my favorite lens.

I got Canon 10-22mm very recently. I am very pleased with the choice.

It may not make much difference to you, but if you're at all considering full frame or a 35mm film camera in the future, look at the Sigma 12-24. It's not as wide on the APS-C cameras, but it's the widest rectilinear lens available for full frame cameras.

20mm is not going to be very wide on an APS-C camera, if you are really looking to go wide then look at the zooms mentioned.

I love my 6.5mm for $300 still and use it all the time! (LINK)
