For this challenge that's not bad at all..Mine has been as high as 6.85 and as low 5.90, and now back above 6.0..All this in about 30 votes.I'm getting dizzy just watching it.

You are a canon user, and you say play nice, how napoleonic.

I am never nice but at least I don't try and pick arguments. So please...can we get this thread back on track without the snide little remarks?

It is a weird challenge in more than one way - I commented on 12 images but only one is marked as helpful. Usually this long after I commented most would be already marked.

Good idea, let's get it back on track. Who else wants to whine about how their shoe-horned entries are getting hammered?

Yeah. Normally, 6.09 would be around the 30% mark, but based on the other scores in here, I'm guessing this will be in the top 10%. Definitely a weird challenge and unsatisfied voters. It's crazy when you look at the other Time challenges. And if you look at my profile, you'll see that Time II has had a huge impact on my work : )

I think it's time to get rid of some of these voters.

Yeah, let's get rid of the ones that vote low on shoehorned entries. How do we do that?

On track? Isn't that what these threads are for, to feel sorry for yourself and hope that somehow venting makes you feel better?

Every single image in this challenge has met the challenge (DMC) by virtue of the fact that the shutter speed is a measure of time to expose the image (sensor). Beyond that you can justify any image. The time it takes to get to the scene to take the picture. The time it takes to get the studio setup to shoot, the time of day the photograph was taken and how critical that time of day was calculated or known to be the right time to get the shot etc etc.
Literal interpretations of the word Time immediately represent a clock of some form or other, and these simple direct interpretations on average do better than others that are not so basic, yet are more subtle in interpretation.

taking the rules WAY out of proportion. Ridiculous comment. Did not say to photo the measure of time, it said the SUBJECT of time, where time is the SUBJECT, not the measure of time being the SUBJECT. Because you did not show in a photo that exposure taking place, nor the shutter actually opening and closing. Literal interpretations can be taken more ways than one. Yours is obviously different than mine. take a photo of the sun. how many interpretations can you get out of that? Does that mean you take a picture of the moon and call it opposite of sun because you title it that way? Don't think so.

You have missed MY point. One can argue the DNMC/DMC interpretation of any challenge any way including the votes dished out based on ones own interpretation. My post was an exercise to draw you into a reaction about that specific, and you took the bait, justifying YOUR interpretation of the challenge and vehemently defending that and disagreeing with mine. You fail to see that everyone else has done the same, only with a different viewpoint or criteria. You're entitled to your challenge interpretation, I'm entitled to mine. Why push yours down my throat in the process? I don't deny you a healthy debate but to me it seems you're trying to make the rest of us toe-your-interpretation-line. Photography is a creative endeavour to most and to some it is based on a small set of "Photographic Rules" like ROT that are often broken. Vote every image as you see fit, and leave your mark and interpretation at that.

Agreed :)
