Is it just me or are many of the entries of the Film Noir simply showing the light/shadow feel of film noir, but the images don't seem to be telling a story at all. I understand that many people tried to make it look like a single frame from a movie, but frames from movies don't tend to make great photographs.

On a side note I did not submit a image to the challenge and was just commenting on a trend I saw as I voted.

I dunno about everybody else but I've seen some film noir movies that didn't seem to tell a story.

You can always read what Nino Frank was talking about when he coined the phrase. I guess in a nut shell, detective films where the focus was the criminal and their ways, not the detective and their ways.
