"Your submission has been validated, thank you."
Yay! I was sure it had to get validated, but it's still a relief :-)

I might even start to like this picture

I don't. But it was a good comment. Since it is happening to more than one of us I am guessing maybe their membership expired?

I'm pretty sure it was Fred, Rorschach. The comment I got from him disappeared.

I hope he's not taking leave.....

You are correct, it is his comment that is missing..and he is still a member...his comment was his opinion and I appreciate it.

He couldn't remove it himself, someone on SC helped him. I wonder why.

You can delete comments in challenge. Just have to delete the words, leave it blank and revote.

I sense a new craze. Leave wordy comments and then delete before challenge ends.

Fred's comments disappeared completely from the count. You can't do that.

I really appreciated Fred's comment. He gave a very good critique of my photo and a solid vote. I am sorry that it's gone.

I got a nice comment and good vote too. Pity.
PS Did anyone get a bad comment from Fred?

Not bad at all...

apparently Fred is dealing with some personal stuff, so not sure if he's going to be super active for awhile, but it might not hurt to drop him a line without telling him WHICH comment it was or which photo. He's a bit out of sorts from normal I think and it's bothering him. Letting him know we appreciate him might not hurt. Just my 2ยข. :)

100-ish check in. Doing well, though I'd been hopeful this might be top ten material. Not looking like it at this point. Pulling in some very good comments though.

"Your submission has been validated, thank you."

I wish people wouldn't throw out these suspected rule violations so freely, it's starting to bug me.

Anyway, ~100 vote check in:

Yep, still doing badly - but then I'm not keen on the image myself so I must agree with the voters here.

...now if only my noir image could start doing a bit better! :<

Well, that just means they read the rules.... If they suspect something is up, they're supposed to report it - as opposed to dropping a 1 bomb on you... Vote fair and send a report... That's what the rules say.

I have only reported one suspected (well two technically) image that I thought was a duplicate of another in the challenge. Come to find out that the two images were taken at the same time of the same thing by a known couple here on DPC. Other than that I don't really try to do any rule challenging...

I've been known to report a few images here and there... Often they were DQ'd, once or twice I was wrong. But it allowed me to comfortably vote where I thought the image should be if it was legal. And I've probably only reported a dozen or so images, but all of them seemed to be in violation of the rules, and one or two were so awesome that I had to vote high and send in the request to validate..

I appreciate what you're saying, although it just seems from my viewpoint at least (having a 36% chance of being challenged on the validity of one of my entries - granted one was a dq) as though certain voters are a bit hyper-vigilant with handing out the suspected rule violations. Perhaps a bit more transparency on exactly what rule is believed to have been violated would help on this too, as each time I'm left having no idea what I've been supposedly infringing upon.

The idea has been (correctly IMO) raised before. Perhaps one day we'll get something like that.

Once an entry has been validated, you can inquire to the SC and they will tell you why an entry was questioned. If it is DQ'd, of course, you will be told up front. In one recent case, I had no idea why my entry would have been questioned, but the person who questioned it fessed up and his reasons made sense. He was incorrect, but I understood what he saw.

just under two days left for voting. I hope this sticks. Of course any upward movement would also be appreciated.

Down and down I go with every last day voter. :-(

I'll be lucky to hang on to a 5.5xxx at this rate.

I can't believe the votes I received today ... actually in the last 6 hours. I was just at the point where I thought I would reach 6.6 and now this;

I could speculate but I won't. However, I really thought with the vote scrubber I would reach 6.6
