Looking for photo suggestions, I'm taking a trip next month to New York City, I'll be there for a week, need to know the best places to shoot in my timeframe. I've got a number of lenses, and I'm looking for some nice, busy, dramatic shots of the city. Just a shoot for fun.

Thanks in advance!

If you feel over pressurized after a few days The Cloisters are amazing, a pool of contemplative silence a short ride from the hustle.

I prefer saint bart's... but I don't know if cathedrals in ny are that great to photograph. Cloisters is probably better for photography. but if jack's looking for people action, maybe you're right.

No one seems to have mentioned High Line Park in Manhattan.

I read about this incredible beautiful ABOVE ground park in April's issue of National Geographic. Gorgeous grounds and some spectacular views of the city to be seen from this old above street rail line park. Check out pictures 5,6, 10 and 14 in link below.

High Line Park in Mahattan

National Geographic Story on New York's High Line Miracle Above Manhattan

I think that would be a great place for photo opportunities for you and any other DPCer's. Have fun on your trip!

If you want a unique view to shoot of the west side, the Roosevelt Island tram is fun.

Just found there website

The High Line . Calendar of events and the new High Line Rink "is one of the only open-air rollerskating venues in Manhattan, with regularly scheduled theme nights and other fun public activities for visitors of all ages.

Might make for some interesting photos taken from the park (which can be seen as the curved pathway with the greenery)
