I recently created an ad on craigslist that I am getting some traffic from.... you can find it here I directed the click on the photo to an info page which sends them to my email form.... please take a look and offer your experiences with craigslist or other free ad campaigns...

Looks very good.
You may want to change your linked page, you offer "16 free wallets"
You may find yourself having to buy many many wallets if you get a few reps!
Some people can hold you to the letter of your printed offer. (or at least used to be able to)

Maybe I am just clueless but I would add some text to say click on the photo to find out more info. I kept looking and looking for a link to click on. Then I noticed that your post in here said something about clicking on the picture. I think you better assume most people will be as clueless as I am.

Good point - I figured most people are curious like me and like to click everything.

@Spork

incentivized .... hehe

@amsterdamman
the $0.70 I pay for wallets that are "worth" $6.52 is negligible; however the rep cards are $15 for a set of 25 - as long as they refer someone I am more than happy to pay $20 for a prospect that will yield $100 +

has anyone tried this route before and succeeded? I have gotten some compliments on the design and approach, but no hits yet...

Lonz what he meant was the wording in your ad for the wallets, it makes it sounds like you are giving them 15 wallets. As in wallets, not as in pictures in 1 wallet

Right, it should read "16 free wallet-sized prints" or something similar. Also, the upper left image in that ad, with the boat in the BG, has been reversed, so all the type reads backwards. This is not good. If you're gonna flip images for compositional reasons, do it with images with no readable type in them. The registration number on the boat is gobbledygook, ditto the tee shirt.

@ Memberamsterdamman, Bear_Music and JulietNN

agreed - here is the revised wallet line: 16 free wallet size prints (wallet size prints come in sheets of 8 of the same pose)

@ Bear_Music:

//www.keithcantrellphoto.com/seniors I can't change the CL post, but here is the revision with the short switched and the numbers and sticker on the boat cloned out.

Well, mine was more of a run of the mill classified ad as compared to yours. I am having a website developed by a pro but it won't be available for a month or so, in the meantime I just went with this:

Family Modeling, All Ages

I need people of every description to model for me! Try out individually, or along with friends or family. People of any age, shape and size are encouraged to consider lifestyle modeling right here in Winchester. Why not schedule a test shoot - it can take as little as 30 minutes - and see if modeling is something that might work for you?

Prospective models should be outgoing, reliable, and relaxed in front of the camera. I hire models on a contract basis for short, occasional gigs, so while modeling for me won't pay the rent, it will put extra cash in your pocket, and a little excitement in your day!

That's pretty cool - are you looking to do stock photos/ gain a book of business/ setup some referrals?

I wish I had the funds to have a "web person" develop something for me... I just kinda piece everything together as I go... my biggest investment was $250 to setup my Zenfolio account - the rest (blogger and craigslist) was free.

I hesitate to admit it around here, but yeah I'm uploading images for stock. As for the web pro, it's actually someone I connected with through smugmug, and she's charging me $250 for a multi page smugmug customization that I will be hard pressed to distinguish from a stand alone site: Nevada Desert Designs Good luck to you with your business venture!
