| Why is everyone so sure she is guilty? A jury came back with a not guilty verdict in, what was it, 10 hours. So obviously the defense presented a good case and the prosecution could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did it. |

| My thoughts are that the news coverage of the case has been entirely biased and that the general public can not make decisions based on it. I am sure the jury heard both sides, and decided based on that. I cannot claim to know better, reading only one-sided and most likely exaggerated news stories |

well they just found her not guilty of first degree murder and child abuse, doesn't mean she didn't do anything wrong, she just didn't get convicted of the charges.
sounds like the jury heard a lot more evidence that no one knew about. |

I still think that she should've been guilty of child abuse. It was more than proven that she was out partying, and living life carelessly while her child was missing/dead.

| I've got to side with the jury here. I've heard nothing that proves (BaRD) that she specifically carried out the killing of her daughter or that she had a motive to do so. |

I felt she should have been charged with something due to the fact that she didn't report her child missing for 31 days, and then she ends up dead. Neglect? Abandonment? Maybe not murder but definitely manslaughter.

The case has been sensationalized beyond all belief. We did not hear the evidence the jurors did. It is not our role to judge. |

| I'm of the mind that if I am going to accept the guilty verdicts I agree with, that barring proof of misconduct, I must also accept the times they acquit. |

And I'm sure that those posting here that "she's guilty" watched the entire trial, took copious notes, and... oh, wait, they were cut out of the jury deliberations. Darn, so close. |

It always amazes me how quick we are to pass judgement.
I wonder how many of the people outraged by this verdict got all THEIR news/updates/etc. from shows like Nancy Grace and the like.

I can't speak for anyone here, but I do know the case has been a big deal and a LOT of people watched that trial from start to finish and heard everything the jury heard in the trial. Anyway, just saying.

I think the case was doomed the minute Nancy Grace started covering it 24/7 three years before the trial even started.

In a sense, the death of Caylee Anthony becomes the responsibility of all of us...regardless of the circumstances or the verdict.
How does that saying go? It takes a community...

I'm actually surprised... Not because I think she should have been found guilty, but, rather because it would seem that the system actually worked as it is supposed to work. Innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonably doubt. Despite my feelings (I FEEL pretty damn sure she did it), I think there was gobs of doubt, and no solid proof.
Go USA! (Still feel bad for the kiddo)
OTOH- I'm betting she'll live a very low quality life from here on out - you can bet there are plenty of people who'd like to off her, and I'm betting someone will try, only a question of when, where and how. Don't know about you, but I'd hate to spend my life looking over my shoulder - she'd have been safer in prison. |
