This is my stock photography sales statistic for May 2011. You can find a complete list of stock photography agencies that I work with here.
These are for me the best 4 performing stock agencies for May 2011:
Shutterstock
Dreamstime
DepositPhotos
StockXpert
May was an OK month it had a decrease of 18% compared to April. But then April was a very good month. It was the best month ever for Shutterstock, and Clipdealer.

Yeah, like me! I instantly recognized it as a gem and bookmarked it. I have wanted to start getting into stock for a while but it has been so hard to find good guidance.
I realize one reason it has been so difficult is that despite "good" and "clear" advice out there, the criteria is fluid enough that it lends easily to manipulation. I ended up herded into several sites like that where I wasted time and were no good for what I needed. Your evidence-based criteria is an ideal statistic and I for one thank you for the information.
One of the things that I like about this site so far is the requests (isn't nice to have some direction?) and the forums being active, however, I wonder if the requests are really valid and if those pictures actually get bought? I saw a post with complaints about not making any money since joining, so I was wondering if there was data for this site which shares those kind of statistics and in particular the pictures which were most popular so we can see what to aim for? |
