I think I'm missing the point of this thread and post. What am I missing here?

OOoooh! Didn't realize this was expert. Now, if only I could get my imagination in gear. That's the hardest part for me.

Ahh, okay. Now it makes sense to me. I hadn't seen the new challenge posting yet.

I have a feeling that we'll see a lot of crazy editing instead of crazy photography in this challenge... which is too bad.

I think that was the idea... since everything was photographed before, now all you have to do is to use your imagination instead of using your camera only...

too bad... toooo baaaad... there are only a few experts out there will be cooking for this one.. others will just scramble the eggs.

I agree.
I have a photo in mind of an area in which something really unusual is absolutely abundant. Now people are just going to think that I managed to get a picture of one, and repeated it over and over in the picture using photoshop.
Would have preferred an Advanced editing for this challenge.

You can always hold off on using that subject for a different challenge that isn't going to get that kind of reaction. How about the free study?

Sure thing. Moreover, we'll see funniness until we get blue in the face.
What about reducing the "so unique" to somber GLASSES, like we've never seen before.
I forgot the exclamation mark!

To me this is a great free study. I am looking forward to seeing the entries!

I am not sure if I will enter as I am still in Camera Raw part of Scott Kelby's CS5 book and this calls for layers and masks expertise.

And since nobody did it yet - the link to the 1st one with Advanced Editing:
Never Seen on DPC!

Thanks for the link. I would be exicited, too, if the challenge was Advanced Editing. But, Expert editing is more about post processing stuff and not much about photography. It's okay! I'll be happy to cast fair and objective votes. But, I will never enter an Expert Editing challenge again. My experience is that images not processed much are discriminated against. Again, that's the prerogative of the voter, but I participate at this site for the photography, not the Photoshop extreme sport.

So vote down images that you see as being too far from your ideal of photography. There is no them, only us. If advanced editing goes too far, vote that way.

And look at those photos.....nothing new there. Everyone was trying for a catchy title. Expert will really bring something new.

Well, that doesn't seem right. Just because I don't want to participate in a certain challenge (because of the ruleset) doesn't mean I can't appreciate the work of those who do.

I was under the impression when I signed up that there would be no math. :(

I take it you've never closely examined the voting scale ... ;-)

I think I'll be happy if I can just figure out something I haven't entered myself before ... :-(
