I think the text looks flat and rather boring over the interesting design. A different, more dynamic font would help a lot.

Personally I like the flat text versus 3D kinda ribbon.
I do like the design and the shot. I guess the pjg artefact are for the posting here only ? Actually the other comment I would have might be due to the compression/resolution of this one : Blurry e in the center, some fuzzy letters, lower right end of ribbon a little blurry ... it's hard with this size.
But I do like it !

| Maybe try a little less of the spiral filter so the flag is still recognizable...but a cool idea. Maybe you could layer it so the original flag is ghosted in the background. |

I love the effect but the fact that the message looks like, to me, that it is being flushed down the toilet doesn't say much for the message you are trying to emphasize. I would arrange the lettering differently to avoid the knee jerk reaction I had to it.
