Way back in 2002, I moved to Manassas, Virginia for a temporary one year project. I was tired of spam email, so I created a free hotmail account under a silly name to use for web log-ins and things of that nature. Once I got started at DPC, though, I didn't want to start a new account with a better name, so I just stuck with it.
Real name is James Dean Anderson II, and everyone calls me JD.

I think you should go with MotherNature - better than SquirrelLady. :)

My name just describes my photography style - I have to RETAKE every shot a million times before I get one that I like. :)

I always think of the Bob Dylan song "Bear Mountain Picnic" when I see your name. :-)

A long time ago in a mischievous mood, and tired of all those numbers to memorize, I decided to get a personalized California license plate that showed off my city, San Francisco. I was amazed when SFAlice was actually available. I use this for just about everything, but also have a reserve user name just in case. That one? SFlichen of course.

OK...mine was actually a web business that I had years ago. The name evolved from my middle child's name. When he was born I used to call him Baby Shamus as - at the time - he was the baby. Baby Shamus for whatever reason evolved into Bubba Shuma. When I started doing websites I used the name bubba Shuma as my business name but everyone mispronounced it. I wanted to change it to something computer related and keep my logo which had the BS letters in it. After searching website names I found nobody owned Binarysmart.com, so I bought it and that became my business name.
With all that said I have had thoughts of changing it. I quit doing websites years ago because my life has changed since then and it's no longer something I'm interested in. I use Tommy Mac on 1x.com and just bought the domain name tommymacphotography.com.

It could mean:

1) i am skinny and sing very low

I made up an email address to keep in touch with people I had met and spent time with in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina (yes, I was there). Then when I signed up for the site and didn't want to use my real name on the web I used the first part of the email address PennyStreet. Now everyone calls me Penny!!!
It's kind of a fun thing to be two people.

I was like scalvert and vawendy I signed up for the site out of curiosity not knowing I would end up getting so involved, also I had no idea that the user name I chose would be used to identify me, I thought maybe later we would be prompted to chose a nickname, so I didn't put much thought into it.

I just used mine and my husbands combined e-mail address name. The S stands for Shaun and the J stands for Jennifer and Huls is my last name. Not very exciting, I've though of changing it but Jenn is already taken as well as a million combinations of it. So I may just be stuck with sjhuls.

Hi, I'm Dave from Florida... hence fldave. And my utter lack of creativity predates vawendy by about a year. With my level of creativity, it's no wonder I rarely break into the 6's!

Hey vawaendy, you could call yourself Bird_Shooter. It has a ring to it. :)

Do you believe that?

My username has been "hjk" (just my initials) long before the PC was invented :) But nowadays it's difficult to get a 3 letter username, so it has become "hajeka" (same letters, but you have to say it in Dutch)

My real name is Alessandro (I'm Italian) and Alex is the natural way to shorten it. KC is something I added when I used to play with my former band, Whispering Lights: //www.myspace.com/whisperinglights

This is a story that goes back 34 years ago, when my little sister began to talk. She used call me Gadion because wasn't able to pronounce my name, Alessandro. When I joined dpchallenge I remembered that she had given me my first digital camera as a birthday present. So I wanted to use her old version of my name.
