I am feeling rather special....I got three letters (the entire word NOT) and not just a plain simple no. However, I have not been blessed with 'idiot'.....(sighs).

this fellah is a registered user i believe so the comments are only that. no votes pair with them.

Could be a lot of things. Just a matter of personal opinion. Remember art is subjective. Not that I knew what that acronym meant until you replied to someone else.
04/04/2011 11:44:25 PM · #180
I got a "no." I think a "not" would have been much better.

04/04/2011 11:46:29 PM · #181
ha ha! I can't say what my comment is or it will give away my entry but I'll give you a clue it is one word and a sound.
04/04/2011 11:51:44 PM · #182
I just got a Not Really from somebody else.... could this be a trend?? Maybe they just want their profile to say they comment on EVERYTHING!
04/04/2011 11:56:55 PM · #183
Well, I got TWO "no"s from "different" users. Neither of them has a profile, and although they show 100+ comments made, I only see one when I click on the link. The plot thickens. He/they must really not like my entry.

Regardless...your score is not bad.

I'm not concerned about the score, just found it funny to get a comment like that in a BW challenge.

I got a 5 word nonsense comment from the mystery member. Maybe he likes mine 5 times as much. But seriously dude, why bother?
04/05/2011 12:51:41 AM · #187

It's only subjective to a point. When you say something that's dead wrong, like stating that a specific color needs to be removed from a B&W image, that's just off the reservation. It helps to have some basic knowledge when you make a recommendation about one's work.

I am all up for "constructive critisism" but when all I get is "so so"...yeah whatever. This person needs some serious help. If all you want is countless threads mentioning something you have said in order to get you noticed then so be it. If you want something more then please try again because no one is interested.

Ok, so my photo was not up to your "standards" (or no one elses in this particulare case!) but if you have something to say, make it worthwile, not just complete s***.

I think (hope) that I speak for everyone here (except those who got more than 1 word eg:idiot!)

I mean no mallice/harm by this comment, just that I am on a learning curve and do not "learn" from this sort of comment.

Love to all!

I got a straight No - to the point, and to an extent I have to agree!

My comment from the mystery user just says "boarming " I thought it was a word I had never heard of before but I now realise that it should read boring. Nice to see the registered user is educated. All my other comments on this image are pointing out the negatives in a constructive way and I have to agree, it's a pity the new commenter could not pass his wisdom in a constructive manner. Maybe he's just a tool.

Is it really off the reservation. There are many other tones and colors in B&W than just Black and White. Photos can have yellows, cyan in them.

This might be one of the school groups. Since they are registered users they can't vote on a members challenge, and maybe they were assigned to comment. Didn't this happen before?

Possibly, but I am sure that a teacher educating students to critique an image would not accept simple nonsensical words that say nothing about the image's technique or appeal.

You'd be surprised what some photography teachers will accept from high school kids these days. Even college courses seem to be a joke. My cousin is in her third year of college as a media major and had to take photography this year and last. She hasn't had to go to class at all this year for it, and only has to turn in 10 pictures by May.
