It's called karma. If you give out bad votes and piss people off, expect the same in return. And fyi voting others down will not make your score rise, it'll sink.
However if you vote fairly and are not afraid to give out good scores to images that are clearly better than yours, you will do better. |
I am not sure this theory has scientific basis :) |

| I didn't enter this challenge because I couldn't find any nature in an obvious urban setting. But I see that didn't stop everyone else from entering! LOL Some of these entries are a real stretch. A lot of them don't show any urban aspect, just the nature. |

| Is it just me? I'm really digging to get Urban in some of the photos. I know the title may say something about urban but I can't see it in the photo. Am I wrong for not rating those photos? Need help here to be fair. |

Congrats to those who are doing well... I'm not doing as great! This is my first time doing a challenge, and obviously I have some learning ahead of me. I seem to be holding strong at 4.9.
Hopefully, I will do better on my next challenge. |

Images could be reflecting the way the artist was interpreting the challenge. I always look for the good in all art, especially since it is subjective. |

Looking at your portfolio your photos are great. It might be that your entry is too much out of the ordinary - usually this means non mainstream DPC and a lower score. Good comments might be more important in this case than high score :) |

I have not received any commments...they would be helpful as they help one to grow. One of the reasons I joined was because I felt inspired by all the wonderful art on all levels. I love to improve and there is always a lot to learn. |

unfortunately you probablly won't get many comments unless you have a really good score or a really bad one. 4.9-5.4 is usually no comment land. Try to make comments on other peoples shots and really get a good look at the ones you like and think about how you could make your shots look like that. Another great place to learn and get to know people is in side challenges, you will be sure to get comments in those. |

I did not enter b/c after spending a few hours trying to find some nature within an urban scene, I gave up. Yes I could have snapped a shot of a flower but I couldn't get it to "say" urban.
I will score lower on shots that do not have some urban element to it.
