I'm not sure if this is "impressionistic" (in fact, I know it's NOT, at least in the sense of Monet etc) but I always thought it was very painterly:

one of my 2010 outtakes I think the slight motion-blur does the trick for me.

this has always looked like Impressionism to me-maybe abstract Impressionism. Would this be ok?

I think we have enough interest to make this a reality. Anyone else please feel free to jump in at any time :)

Being a person with science/tech background I have decided to put a structure to my comments. It is as follows:

1. First impressions - what is good about the image, what feelings it evokes, what is most striking
2. Technique - how it was done? Some special way during taking the photo or only PP? What type of PP?
3. Suggestions - alternative PP, ideas for a different approach, pointers

I will try to do this with the first images and see if it works. Let's do it!

You'll just have to host your images elsewhere (flickr, photo-bucket, etc.) and post either thumb links or web links. It will cut down on the number of comments you get though. Most places won't let you comment if you're not registered or signed in.

Besides being a worthwhile plan for commenting on other people's images, I think it is also a very good structure for you to talk about your own images as you make them for this project. I find it very interesting, well, not always, but often, to read what people where thinking when they made an image, what they think is good about the image, what they meant to say with it, and then also some of the technical details of how the image was made. :)
