Hi Everyone,
I love this site! I have been around for a while mainly as a spectator, but I love getting ideas and just basically enjoying seeing all the wonderful talent that is here and what this site has to offer.

Now, onto my problem: I have my first (real) photo shoot for a pregnant friend who is due in a couple of weeks. Since she is on bed rest I am making the trip to her home. I was planning on just using natural light in her home, but i also have a three-light studio set with back drops and everything that I was considering taking. However, I am not very good at using them just yet so I am leery of taking it and setting it up. So, I guess this is where I need some advice: Is it possible to do a whole maternity shoot with just natural light?

Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Any large natural light sources like patio doors or large windows? If the is one that is on the North side of the home will work best, but others will work too.

If you go with studio lights, keep it simple. One light setups work well for maternity.

This is a two light setup, but it's only key and hair lights. The shot would have worked minus the hair light.

Since she is on bed rest, it probably would be best with natural light. Leroy has some great examples and advice.
Here are a couple on location with backdrop and two lights.
