Remember...Janis Joplin told us all that "freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose," so submit something that you think says FREEDOM in your own imaginative and creative way!

Tic, tac... it´s the sound of my watch...

think of experiences you've had where you don't feel any pressure to succeed or that has given you that feeling of getting away from it all, where you've felt joy just being there and being alive.

Tic, tac... it´s the sound of my watch...

I know, it was supposed to be a multilingual joke ...

In English written prose the sound of a watch or clock escapement is usually rendered "tick-tock" as in the nursery rhyme "Hickory Dickory Dock..." and the characters Tock the croc in Peter Pan and Tock the dog in The Phantom Tollbooth.

I have a good idea but will proably be forced to shoot 2morrow.

A tic is a small, focal muscle spasm, often repeated.

A tick is an eight-legged arthropod most recently in the news as the vector for Lyme Disease, as well as several other pathogens; a mark used to measure intervals or keep a tally; a rhythmic repeated sound.

As a slang verb it's used to indicate irritation (to tick someone off is to anger them).

Here's the obvious to maybe help you with some ideas...
How about photographing young children (about toddler age) at play in a park or at the beach? Or maybe adolescents on skateboards, bicycles doing wheelies. I won't be submitting this challenge, so I thought I'd give my ideas away. good luck.

Birds in flight are free...

Baby wild animals (remember the old movie, "Born Free")

Free-flowing water, waterfalls, rivers, creeks, streams

Things blowing in the wind...hair, scarf, kite, dandelion, etc.

Just a few ideas to get you going...you still have a few hours!!! LOL

I don't believe there is any way to associate a flower or a cat with Freedom....

:)

I got mine in today, but I am sure it will be burned (given low scores) because what it represents.
07/10/2004 08:16:50 PM · #15
I have taken about 200 pictures for this challenge to make sure I submit the right photo. 2oo photos and no right photo at this time. I can't take making a low score again. I will try to shoot again tomorrow, try out another idea.

Well without thinking about the "Freedom" challenge today, I shot this pic of a gorilla at the zoo. Since I like the image I thought maybe I could could "twist" it's meaning to fit Freedom, by giving it a clever Title "Freedom? Not in this life", or something like that but decided against it. :)

Yeah, I sorta twisted mine after I took/saw the photo. Although, after thinking about it, I think it actually fits the Freedom category quite well.

Alas, I am forced to take a short holiday and unable to enter either of the current 2 challenges, but I wish everyone good luck, I may just catch the voting when I get back.
