I didn't vote with the masses on many pics in the June Free Study. Here are three that, IMO, were robbed, should've placed much higher. So I'm giving them another show. This list is by no means inclusive - feel free to post others you think were underrated.

This should cover it...

Seriously though, there's a ton of great images, only circa 1% of which will ribbon in a given challenge.

There was just an overwhelming number of good pictures in this challenge.

Okay seeing water dance, I agree some were robbed. Here's some of my tens:

That's why I started this thread - the higher placing photos have had/will get their moment, but I think some other really great images were deserving of more attention (without taking away anything from any of the better placing photos). The title is intentionally dramatic ("robbed") to get some attention and is not a complaint per se.

How far down do they have to be to have been burglarized, so I can pick out a few?

Have to add my own surprise that even though 45th is quite respectable, i was shocked / appalled by the fact it wasn't a top 10 shot. of course, quality of the overall competition meant that the top 10 photos were limited to, erm, 10 photos, all of which deserve to be there; but i still feel this deserved better. i gave it a ten - so how it warranted so many "average" fives and a few scores less than that is a total mystery to me.

In a group of great photos, they were unique and very well executed simultaneously.

A couple of flower, ya flower, pictures got robbed. I look at the total feel of a photo. Even if a photo may be easy to take, it's the composition that draws me in. Here they are, plus one other.

81572.jpg The sepia tone sets the mood of summer and days gone by

86059.jpg Having the flower in the corner means the photographer thought about what they wanted to present and the water droplets just add to the mood. Has it been done before? Yes, many times. Has it been done by this photographer, maybe not, maybe so. Maybe they are trying to perfect their choice of compositions. This to me is what the free study is about.

85152.jpg The colours and the angle says it all here. This image reminds me of movies like 'Casablanca'.

Thanks :) Got an offer last night from a fine art printer to do a glass tile version of that - could be interesting to see how it turns out...

Yes there were so many good shots! Out of the top ten I voted for, not one finished with a ribbon also? Sometimes its just a matter of taste.

Absolutely, pick away - robbed was just an expression for interest. I really just wanted to have another look at some of the great shots in this challenge, more individual attention than when grouped with 400 others as in the voting process.

Put up any one you think should have scored higher than it did. There is no wrong answer in matters of opinion and taste.

Bill -- I left a comment on your shot. ;)

I love threads like these, especially after such a high quality challenge like a month long free study.
