I like the PM system -- quite a bit.

However, it could use some additions:

1. We could really use the ability to quote a previous message, just like in forums. I've had a number of PMs with multiple people discussing a certain photo. If we could only quote a previous message in that same PM, it would be so much easier.

2. We could really use the ability to add someone to a message. We're working on the OOBies, and when someone else joined the ranks, we had to start a completely new PM, just to include that person. Which is unfortunate, because we had to start the discussion over again.

There were other things, as well. But now I can't remember what they are. Anyone else have suggestions on the PM system?

A page index on the bottom would be nice

The ability to go back an edit a PM. I don't know how many times I've hit the send button to find out I forgot to spell check, or I sent two of the same picture.

That won't happen anymore than you can go back and edit an e-mail that you sent.

Totally on board, though, with the ability to add/delete recipients from an in-progress correspondence.

I'd also like to see free mints go out with every PM.

Good luck, while it could be done its also not considered the greatest idea to implement either. The design of this site doesnt seem to even recognize when someone hasnt viewed a post so that an edit notice isnt required. The same sort of system would have to be implemented to allow an edit before the users sees it. However it wont change the email they received prior to viewing it on the site.

Anyways the reason why thats not a common feature in mass market or most custom written forum software is it could be abused.

As far as quoting someone, you can do it manually. Just copy and past the text and put it inside the same bracketed "Quote=" that you get when the quote button is there.

yup, but if there are pictures in there, they don't carry through.

Well, you can click on those, copy the number, and insert 'em in your reply. It's not hard. Until they implement quoting, I mean. But be careful what you wish for: one of the nice things about the strings we have now is that they DON'T devolve into larger-and-larger quotes-of-quotes-of other quotes, if you catch my drift? Those are mightily annoying...
