The subject of my Newspaper Challenge entry

was found shot to death yesterday.

I wanted to title this thread "Why I Hate People", but since I don't, I couldn't...

Edited to remove invalid link to newspaper article.

Unbelievable. Hearing about this kind of thing totally sickens me. How sad for poor little "Shopper".

Sorry to hear such sad news. Shows lack of respect for life. Stupid people will always be with us.

I hope they find whoever did that. How sad. Maybe if they catch them, they should be put in a cage with a hungry tiger to see who survives. They could even give them(the humans) a sling shot for protection.

100's of people die everyday from gunshots...where's the outrage?

How many Sea Lions get shot at point blank range in the middle of a city?

Who said there isn't any outrage over that fact? This thread is about a sea lion, so it is not exactly unexpected to have people show a little sympathy toward this animal's demise. Mine included - he/she looked like a magnificent animal.

i cant watch when an animal is harmed in movies, but yet..my eyes are glued to the screen when people are shooting each other. guess that means i just care more about the well being of animals more than humans.

I've railed against many of the horrors perpetrated against humans on a number of forums on this web site but can't remember a peep out of you regarding your outrage. Why can't people outrage the abuses against against animals, as well as, humans?

While this is a horrorible incident, and I know of others committed like it, people should also be railing against other animal abuses, such as in slaughterhouses or laboratories. They are inhumane.

Steve,
I love shooting animals like 'Shopper' with my camera.
Sometimes I get lucky & can tell a 'thousand word' story with just a picture.
I was pleased with the positive feedback that the Press and community contributed
when you first told me about him. Of the pictures I saw, I like the picture you took of him the best.
He looked proud in it.

Disgusting. I hope they find whoever did this. They should go to jail.

Yup, I'm the same way.

I almost walked out of The Butterfly Effect earlier this year because of that.

Terrible story. Really horrible, I hope they find the people responsible.

Reminds me of the story of "Sampson", a magnificent bull elk that roamed freely around Estes Park, CO . He was a common site on golf courses, in town, etc. People used to make the trip just to catch a glimpse of him...several years ago somebody shot him with a crossbow and left.

Stupid people outnumber smart people.

It’s sad but true. Take a group of ten random people from any mainstream department store and how many of those 10 people do you think are truly intelligent.

It’s a numbers game really. Intelligent people usually have a few kids (not that having more makes you stupid) and that's it. Then try hard to raise them well.

Yet stupid people, well they have 5, 6 or more and then don't care about how they raise them, in case you haven’t seen this take a ride to your nearest Wal-Mart or equivalent store and look around.

So if you think about it intelligent people are a doomed race. ;-)

By definition, most people are of average intelligence.

There is a difference between a person that is below averege intelligence, and a sick cruel bastard that would shoot an animal just for the fun of it.
