Why not "Minimal Editing" , like the brother exclusive challenge "Street Photography IV"
for an even better joke?

A good minimal joke--align with a picture of just a line :)

I usually suck at coming up with ideas, but I have a few for this. That doesn't mean they will come out of the camera looking like I am picturing them, though.

It seems to me that basic editing is correct for this: if it were advanced, we'd see a whole lot of technique-dominated illustrations of techniques (obvious PS gradients to illustrate "gradient", whatever) and that kind of defeats the purpose of the challenge...

I strongly agree... this is one challenge topic that seems to demand a more limited editing set to force folks to "think outside the Ps window."

This, in the English language, is the proximal demonstrative. (wiki) : )

The discussion is about the current challenge.

brush
masks
paths

help
magic wand
slice tool
red eye tool
eraser
paint bucket
burn

I guess one could find an image with those topics.

my take on it is to take a photo of something that fits the term, not the actual Photoshop action. Like in Frank's list.

The photo itself doesn't need to be something that shows a literal Photoshop tool or technique.

Things like masks, clouds, layers, bridge, paths, and blur could all make interesting subject matter.

I agree, like in the original suggestion.

Dodging is futile, burning is inevitable.

I'm pretty good at "Find Edges"... I find the edges of coffee tables, foot boards, often door frames and wall corners...

Sigh, I have an amazing awesome idea for this, but I KNOW from experience that I need advanced editing for it, which means I can't do it.
Basic Editing is really cramping my style, literally :-P

I think it's a good idea for a subject. Basic or not, we just need to rely on photoshop less this time.
