Congrats! I thought mine would do better than it is doing, but there is still a long way to go. I think you are in my neck of the woods...we should GTG sometime to take some shots!

I have to go fast because I won't let myself look at my own score until I have scored everyone else. Also, I notice that I score higher the faster I go because I don't start nit-picking the pictures. There wasn't a lot to nit-pic here though, there are a lot of amazing photos. I love looking through the free-studies. I wish I had a 1/10th of the talent you guys have. Oh well, that's what classes are for (now if I would just do the homework everything would probably be better). |

something is not right... all of us can't be getting 6+ scores
I mean even I am sitting at 6.5 after 10 votes
maybe someone did autovoting of somekind which would be filtered out at the last moment :(( |

No, what happens at the beginning of Free Studies I have found, is that people just look through the entries and then will vote on a few that catch their eye, and they like. So thats why lots of people start out high, and then drop as the other people start voting on the images.
Also, there are lots more entries in a Free Study so it makes sense that there are more sixes |

5.3000 at 10 votes and still going down. I didn't expect this to have a broad appeal but most of my shots don't. I guess I would like this to stay in the 5's but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm fed up with challenges because of the idiotic voting patterns that abound. I reckon you could enter a previously unseen Cartier-Bresson on here and it'd still get it's fair share of sub-4 votes. Maybe there's something to be said for dropping off the top 10% and bottom 10% of votes received when calculating scores, in order to get rid of some of the stupid votes.
