Some of us from the 2010 PAW have decided to carry on for 2011.

Hanneke's original 2009 thread:

"Rules"

~ You can sign up until January 7th, 2011.

~ One photo a week that fits your theme. I'll make an image-thread here on DPC where you can.
~ After week 1 it's not possible to enter the side challenge anymore. The goal is to really make 52 photos in the theme, one each week.
~ If you couldn't make it in one week, no worries, but try to catch up. My experience is that sometimes it's pretty hard to hold on the one-a-week each time. But once you're behind for 6-7 weeks, it's hard to keep up.
~ Try and comment on the photos of the other participants, if you have time to do so.
~ Have lots of fun!!!

I'd like to give it a shot and see if I can hang in. But I would really like to practice different techniques throughout so my theme may be all over the place if that is ok.

I shall try it again. Not sure of my theme though.

Just a piece of advice for someone trying this for the first time -- last year, I was doing mine, posting here, on my blog(s) and on facebook. The shooting and processing wasn't the problem, I just got aggravated uploading it so many different times, and eventually got behind. I actually kept up with the project a lot longer than I uploaded. With projects like this, I have found that the simpler, the better.

Good advice karmat - thanks! (I also gave up early last year with my over ambitious portrait POW).

I ran into the same problem. Actually, I was trying to do a couple of photo-a-day blogs, Facebook, and some other stuff, and the work of posting everything got to me. Photo-a-Week fell through the cracks.

I will probably start a folder here for photo-a-week. I will say, that I really like my blog provider because I can upload from my iPhone. It would be nice if we had that capability here. (Are you listening, Langdon? 8)

I would actually really like the ability to upload from the iPad when I'm travelling. I do have software on it now that is good enough for any basic editing requirements (and advanced too). It's then only frustrating not to be able to upload until I'm home and the challenge closed for submissions.

I'm in. I've been planning for a long time to do something like this and the beginning of the year seems like a good start. I'll probably have a loose theme - "My weekly photo" or something like that.
