Some great work in the Purple challenge, and a lot of originality. Well done folks!
I was debating whether or not to yank my purple entry at the last minute, but finally decided to leave it in. Then I saw the entries and thought, "uh, oh!" Thankfully, I'm not doing too bad in the early voting, but certainly no ribbon. Guess I should have done a self-portrait... scoring my first 7 in the Color Portrait challenge had me tickled PINK (I can Photoshop from there). ;-) |

Agreed...some incredible shots. I'm having a bit of difficulty with the entire range of purple, however...my monitor has been calibrated before, but I'm wondering if it's the monitor or me...is anyone else seeing colors other than purple (besides red and blue, and basic shades of lilac, lavender, etc)...colors that are way off from purple? I want to know before I vote and really do folks an injustice. Thanks! :o)

| I've seen a blue and such where the title said purple, it's close enough to assume their monitor was different or their white balance needs fine-tuning. I'm giving most of those the benefit of the doubt. (there isn't many though) |

| Yep. Seen the colours - blues and pinks and all. Not sure if they may or may not show or suggest purple. Will have a good think about that now :) |

That's why I was asking first...I'm not talking about reds, blues, and the varieties in between, I'm talking about colors WAY away from that...there were a couple, and I just wanted to be sure I was not the problem. :o)

Barely holding on to a 6.ooo after 11 votes. :( I thought I had a top tenner. Oh well. It is definately one of my favouritest pics to date.
Anyone else disappointed?

I really went out on a limb for this one...and it's at 5.27. Oh well, there's always next time... LOL
edit...make that 5.04... double grrr...

Ya im at 5.0 after 18 votes. But what i cant understand is why there asking for my nef file for my june study its one of the most basic shots i have ever taken point click and upload. lol

Well, I've decided to give everyone the benefit of the doubt...I just did my first pass-through on voting, and had no score below a 4. Some really fun and inventive shots in this one. Great job, everyone! :o)

somebody just gave my pic a stinkin lousy rotten 2! I am not impressed. I already have two comments where people say they gave me 10's and then I get a 2. What is up with that? lol

| Wow!!! Everyone really did an amazing job on purple. I gave out 6 tens. I usually only give one per challenge. Great Jobs! I am happy I did not enter this challenge. |

Congrats guys!! There are many amazing shots in this challenge. For the life of me, I could not think of an interesting thing for this challenge therefore I didn't enter. Just goes to show what can be achieved when you open your mind to the many possibilities out there. I'm impressed!!
And Bassie, I wouldn't worry about it too much, it could be somebody was just adjusting their score a point or two, up or down... And if not and they did give you two, just take heart that many top 5 finishers sometimes have a few 1's and 2's, maybe one of them will be you! :-) Best of luck to all of you!

i understand if a person dont like the picture and score it low. but i have a feeling some thought it dont meet the challenge when it did.. oh well |

So far I haven't given lower than a 4 and I think there were only 2 of them. There are some really great pictures in this challenge.
I am sitting at 5.9ish so far but hope to finish a little higher than that. (crossing my fingers) This is one pic that I am gonna blow up to a 16x20 for myself. I am really proud of this one, but I did have lots of help with the lighting and editing from my friend.

I haven't looked at all the photos yet, but I'm just saying.
Just because you have red and bleu, why would it suggest purple?
I know they make purple when mixed, but if I have an image, half of it is blue, the other half is red, I wouldn't say it's suggesting purple. |
