The results of the Wildlife V challenge have been recalculated, due to the disqualification of the former 2nd place image for extending the image area. Congrats to our new 2nd & 3rd place ribbons!

OMG! After all these years, I finally bagged a ribbon with a seagull! I'm sorry to hear about William's DQ though, that's a stunning hummingbird shot.

Surely it's a mistake -- William would know better than that. Bear couldn't have ribboned with a seagull before me.... *sob*!

I'm not seeing the problem area. Could you explain what part of the image was extended? You can't be referring to the black border as I see that done all the time here. |

The tip of the left wing was cut off at the edge of the original so that tip, and the background beyond it, were added in Photoshop. Unfortunately. |

I'd like think I've been around long enough to know the rules too, but I've done the same thing and even submitted it just like he did. Luckily, the day of roll-over I said to myself, "Shit! I can't do that!!" and swapped it out. You get so used to editing for yourself sometimes you don't even think about it. I think mine was a tip of a spider leg that got cut off. I reshaped it in a split second without really noticing I'd done it. What's an extra bit of wing or leg amongst friends?

| So that entire vertical strip has been added? That's masterful work. Bummer. It's an incredible image, and you never want to see a DQ. |
