Whether it be coloration / processing, automobiles, wine, clothing or some other interpretation, offer an image that communicates 'Vintage'.

It's also the this month's theme at Better Photo. Kills two birds with stone so I vote yes as well. (No birds were hurt in the typing of this post.)

Like it.

Great suggestion Paul. I would like it to be advanced as well so we can use soft light and overlay blend modes to play around with the contrast.

I can't wait to see fotomann_forever's work for this one :)

Me, vintage? I suppose I could do shots of some of my underwear or socks - maybe some t-shirts.

I'm intrigued!

Will be interesting

I'm going to have to take a look at the rule set for advanced to see what coloration or processing might be allowed to convey vintage. The layers being used in the side challenge are off limits, correct?

This is going to be fun to vote on - there should be such a variety of different takes on the challenge topic. Good suggestion!

...one of your beautiful models in them?

I would love to enter this as I have a friend whose into all the vintage clothes and stuff. She knows how to do the old time pin up poses. But with the short days and my very busy upcoming weekend I'm afraid there will be no time for us to get together for a shoot.

Oh well....maybe some other time.

Interesting point. I seemingly never get it right for the challenge I've just entered, but I've learned what I would do differently given another chance. That extends to creativity as well, I suppose. So even if you can't find the time now, definitely keep it in mind if it intrigues you.

Isn't Vintage pretty much the same (or very, very similar) as Antique?

I wish this was an Exclusive Open challenge. I seem to have a few previous entries in this genre.

I'm going to love looking at all the entries.

They overlap, but there are some noteworthy areas of difference. "Vintage" can refer to a style of image processing that produces an old-time look. Hence, in this challenge we might see some landscapes that would not have qualified in an "antique" challenge. "Vintage" can also refer to the year a wine was made, as another example, so we might see some wine-and-food still lives, also not "antique". And then "vintage" can be used colloquially, like to say of someone's performance "That's vintage Woody Allen!" (or whomever), though that might be a little harder to get across. Plus of course there's all the old stuff...

Basically, it's a wider-open challenge than "antique" was, I think... That's my sense of it, anyway.

Excellent appraisal of the challenge right there. This should be a great one.

Besides, while my daughter might call me an antique, she would never call me vintage.
