I'll be in Galveston the 5th through the 9th and would love some tips or ideas on what to shoot (besides that big blue ocean thing) while I'm there...I'm thinking Moody Gardens, but other than that, any ideas? Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice. :o)

Sigh. I wished I had a camera when I visited the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

I think there is an exhibition of Diane Arbus' work at the art museum.

Nice botanical garden. Interesting downtown buildings. umm,, that's what I can think of right now.

Goodbye, everyone...see you on Friday! I shall try to deal with my separation anxiety without the use of too many alcoholic beverages...

Whew...I'm tired but we had such a good time! I have about 500 pictures to go through...imagine that. I can't wait to get them all transferred and posted for your viewing pleasure (LOL). I think I got some pretty good shots...at least my family snapshots look better than they usually do! It sure is good to be home. I've been having computer withdrawals. :o)

Welcome back! It took me forever to sort through my vacation pics, so I don't envy you at all (had to hide a bunch in my under construction folder in the portfolio until the current challenges are over)! But you will be so crazy-happy when you finally get to go through and view them all -- and we'll all enjoy seeing them. Good luck and glad to hear from you again!

OK...here are two, one is a sunrise from Wednesday morning and the other is from the thunderstorm that rolled in over the island last night. I've never taken any lightning pictures before, so this was my first attempt. It's cropped quite a bit, because I was zoomed out wide to try to find the lighting...I wasn't sure where to shoot. But here are the first two pics I've gotten finished with. More to come! :o)

Laurie - I am going to look at these from home later, because my monitor here is terrible. Right now, I'd say the first one is beautiful. I would prefer the vertical band of light not be there, but maybe you wanted it to reflect that way. The second one is too dark for this monitor to pick up. Can't wait to see more!
