So, I have noticed that it seems pretty consistent that peoples complain of scores going down at night and are better during the day. And then I noticed that when I am editing photos at night they look different than they did during the day. I wonder if instead of blaming night time trolls on the bad scores, we should just be blaming the way our monitors display photo's at night.
I guess one comforting thought is, that it would effect all the photos equally. |

It also seems to me that high and low votes on a given entry often seem to come close together. My theory is that since this site has worldwide participation, that certain types of entries appeal differently to people in different cultures. For instance, a surge of voting from north America may happent as lunchtime passes across the continent, and a few hours later in the evening. Of course those times would be different for a member in Japan.

I'm not gonna lie, I believe even I give lower scores at night, but not because of my monitor, but because I'm really tired and crabby sometimes and i take it out on little things that annoy me in photos. i correct them later on, but...i do do that. oops. so i stopped voting when i'm crabby. i also noticed when i'm in a very good mood i give really high scores. maybe even higher then i should.lol. but i'm sure no one complains about that. :) so that's my input on things. |

I thought of that too. It's just interesting that the lower votes and the higher ones seem to happen in waves. I'm sure it has been discussed many times at length. It would make an interesting numbers study if it was possible. |

I'm really drunk at night, so I vote high. During the day I'm only slightly drunk, so I vote in the middle. |

It would be interesting to see stats on voting by country/region. I get the sense that people in the eastern hemisphere hate my photos.

Only slightly? Wow I would have pictured you as completely hammered all the time.

How rude! Slippy was completely sober during DPL II when it occurred to him to put on face makeup and pretend his severed head was inside a camera bag... oh wait.. no, you may be right! ;o) |
