I'm vaguely excited about this.
4:00-5:00am

I never get up early so it might be a good excuse to!

This would have been great in the summer, but it's pitch black here between 4-5am now.

The Blue in the first 4:00-5:00am was taken in the dark :) I foresee many long exposures. I think I may just do the homemade landscapes though as I hate mornings but I am already planning on heading out for photos at 6am saturday, I just cant see going out an extra two hours early.

Just as I made a plan to start sleeping before dawn..

Oh, we had a 350# black bear in the yard at 4 AM this morning. (alerted to by Golden Retriever, Maggie). I woke up and put a flashlight on the guy, but was too groggy to think of how to image capture a wild animal in the moonlight. Maybe a second curtain flash.

The only DQ of the last challenge was one clearly taken in daylight. And it looks like the photographer never submitted their original.

Again, it's not explicitly stated as an extra rule, but can an image be disqualified for being taken outside the one hour window?

What if I take something at 10PM-11PM my time, I mean...clearly it is 4-5 somewhere... :-)

It's not an extra rule, so no. But, I think you'd get taken down a few notches in the forums after the fact.

Would it be DNMC to stay up late rather than set my alarm?

Shame this wasn't on last weekend. I was up until at least four or five from Friday to Monday last week.

Look again. ;-)

ok, folks keep this one honest. No changing your time on your camera to say 4 AM and go shooting at 10 PM

I might have to skip this one. There is no way I can wake up that early. :P

I guess this means I'll have to set my camera to its proper time. It hasn't been changed since I got back from my holiday in South America.
*sigh* :P

To restrict shooting to just seven hours in a week long contest seems rather silly to me especially when it appears that overall entry numbers are already on the decline.

Someone should start a thread and take bets on how many entries there will be in this one. My guess is about 55-60.

Or just set it to between 4 and 5 am even if you shoot midday. *grin*

But... if there are only 10 entries -- automatic top 10!! Whee!!!

Nice to see the extra rule. So this will be a challenge for early birds. Not sure if I am one.

For those in the UK, don't forget the clocks go back an hour on Sunday...
