that's a pretty good score for your first entry. i wouldn't be too disappointed. the comments too aren't usually that good during voting either, since there are so many to vote in you only get a quick thought. i usually only leave comments on the i really, really like.

Seriously though, I've really started to force myself into a detailed (or at least a little more detailed than normal) comment for anything I leave a 1-3 for (usually only a handful of images per challenge so no great burden). The hard thing is not only trying to put into words why it is you don't like something, but to word it in such a way as to be constructive rather than offensive. I think that's why a lot of people do not comment on low votes. It's really easy to say to someone "wow you are cool, that's such a great photo". Not so easy to say to someone "wow, you suck. That's such a bad photo" in a constructive way.

I'm not in this challenge but am voting (about 1/3 of the way through). I did give out two 2's and will go back to comment, just in case one of them belongs to the person questioning below. : ) I think it's pretty obvious why they both are getting such a low score but then again, I assume too much at times. It could be a newbie, a kid, or someone who wants to win the brown, hell, I don't know. On the upside, I do see some wonderful images, and will vote accordingly.

I didn't shoot for bridges cause I didn't think there was anything interesting around here to shoot. After looking through the images I remembered several places and now I wish I had thought of them before.

For a little while, I thought it might hit 6, but I think I'll end right around here. It was a fun challenge to shoot for. It didn't sound like fun at first, because I don't have incredible bridges around here, and I figured a normal bridge wouldn't stand much of a chance. But it was great fun exploring! I took shots from on top, on the side, underneath, every angle I could think of, and got some shots that I really enjoy.
