A lot of the comments here probably won't be relevant if the procedure was done long ago. It has been improved upon so that it is minimally invasive (my doc was no needle, no scalpel) and the entire procedure, including anesthetic, took about 8-10 minutes.

That being said, everyone's recovery is different and you are tempting fate by going to a concert 2 days later. I had some dull pain for a couple of days, but not enough to stop you from doing anything. I still rested a lot for a couple of days and avoided playing hockey and volleyball for a couple of weeks. That was actually the hardest part since I felt fine.

My brother played a game of softball a week after he had it done and regretted it big time. He paid in pain for a couple of weeks afterword.

its not that bad.

the worse part is you have to wait 8 - 10 weeks, to find out if you are sterile.

mine hurt really badly for several days. this was about 13 years ago. YMMV.

I've always wondered though...if the fish can't swim out of the stream, what happens to them???

Good luck Doc. I'd never snip me boys. The upside is that you get to do a lot of, hmmmmm, shall we say private testing. But maybe you have someone who could help you mutually with that.

Nurse cells which normally select and destroy bad sperm cells would eventually have to handle them all.

Had mine done in '82. (Damn, I'm old.) Easy procedure, no big deal. Done on Friday, went to work Monday (desk job, no phys labor), but really felt like I'd been smacked in the 'nads with a baseball bat for about a week.

OK, the squeemish and prudish look away now..

OK, gone?

Right, without being too graphic, you are asked to - ahem- empty the vessel a few days after the event.. be warned - there is a STRONG possibility it will come out pink the first couple of times.

I`ll leave you with that thought.

i guess i got lucky... not to say that i wasnt extremely concerned how that first one would be, i was expecting all sort of colors and textures :p

of course they burned mine apart, maybe that made a difference into just cutting or clamping them.

Yeah and get ready for that feeling of the live ones running into a brick wall and byou feeling it (it's a mental thing).

BTW - I had it done and agree that it was no problem and you feel great afterward. BUT - I went back to work on the second day and rode the tailboard (firefighter) to a call in a housing project that had like 16 speed bumps going in. I had to take off the next week. Moral of the story, take it easy even if you feel good.
