I've used vistaprint twice for calendars and would definitely recommend them. Keep an eye out for sales to get a good deal.

I like Lulu. I've used them for several years now; excellent quality.

I recommend snapfish, I used last year for a wall calendar and this year for wall and desk calenders. The quality is excellent.

I used Costco first, returned those, they were awful. Then went to MPix...wonderful high end product...paid about $20 each, they were really well done...took a little while to figure out the templates but that really didn't take long...

there have been a couple of threads on this...I looked for them

If you want a TON of options and lots of customization, mycanvas is the place to go. I used it last year and had to really stop myself from spending hours & hours playing with it. Very high quality and basically just fun to use.

It also links to many photo sharing sites (I linked to both my smugmug & flickr accounts).

I have used vistaprint, and was pleased with the result. After you buy, however, you will get many emails with 'deals'. Its easy to opt out of the emails though.

If you are a member, Costco calendars have a pretty flexible layout system and is quite inexpensive ($10-18). You can add pictures and captions to individual dates as well as the large monthly pictures, and I think you can have it start with any month, not just with a "calendar year."

this is where I got my first set done...but they were so very horribly over saturated it was awful...used the SAME pictures for MPix and didn't have the problem...Costco did say it depended on when you made your order and where you are in line with their toners etc....just FYI

Bummer -- that shouldn't be. Howecver, it's one reason I avoid inkjet printers in general, I haven't had consistency problems imaging to their regular (Fuji Crystal Archive) photographic papers.

I know what your saying...even the rep that I talked to said they should not have turned out the way they did...it was like someone hit a "super saturation button" on my order...it was terrible and really caused me a lot of concern at the time as I thought "well, then everyone is seeing my pictures like this...how awful!!! No wonder my scores are crap...lol"

I used Shutterfly last year and the quality is very good. DO NOT use them if you are overseas or have an APO/FPO address, though. That was a nightmare.

They have some nice layouts to choose from if you want to use them.

I've also used mpix and the quality of the printed photography there is very good as well. I wasn't as pleased with the calendar portion - fonts, lettering, etc - with them as with Shutterfly.

Update - I just went back to Shutterfly last night. I made a ton of calendars through them last year and customized each one for the recipient with dates applicable to them. I would like to be able to SEE those calendars again so I can use the same dates again. I cannot. They are outdated and no longer available for ordering (which is just fine and I can fully understand that) but if I try to view them, all I can see is a small view of the pictures used - no view of the date pages themselves. I still have access to a list of "events" I can add to a calendar, but no way of separating out which events belonged to which calendar.

So I'm a little frustrated with the company at the moment.

On the rare occasion I've had a problem -- once some roller lines showed up, once the (small) prints were trimmed out-of-square -- they immediately offered to reprint at no charge; they even reprinted a 12x18 I needed while I waited. But again, those were photo prints, not inkjet ...

another vote for lulu.

my only calendar experience is with lulu, and they do really nice work. with their templates and easy-to-follow guidelines, i've been able to produce some pretty nice calendars over the years. (the hardest part for me was picking the photos.)

they also have a lot of calendar date lists to add to your calendar (US holidays, religious holidays, etc), as well as the ability to add your own.

and they are available until YOU take them down ;-)

they have a lot of different sizes and styles, as well as the ability for you to set up your own shopping cart interface so that people can buy them one-off online. they offer discount prices for bulk purchases.

i don't get anything out of promoting them, just letting you know my experience.

mypublisher.com prints everything well that I've ever had printed.

Today's the last day for 50% off calendars and cards. Use code CARD50 to get the discount.

Re-edited entire post, since I've taken down all the 2010 calendars, and just "finished" the 2011 ones.

Another satisfied lulu.com customer. I've used them since 2006 or so. Cost for a 1-off, basic, 12-month is around $12.50 + shipping, cost drops below $10 each when you order 5+. Good quality paper (100#).

I have only used lulu and Office Depot. Office Depot did a good job, but the finished product wasn't quite as professional, and wasn't cheaper (of course, that was 5 years ago).

Links for my 2011 calendars are:

If you have a walgreens near you they do a good job. I have ordered several from them and the turn around time is very quick. Christmas cards done in as little as 2 hours as well!
