| Also, does the 2 for 1 bit come with the cartridge to adapt it to a 600 or is that something extra one needs to get? |

From what I read, that film will work if the camera has a built in lighten/darken wheel or slider.
eta: If you're in the US order from the first link in the original thread. It's cheaper.

Actually it's three for two...
PX 70 First Flush Color Shade
It will work in 600 One Step, but as Kelli stated, you need to adjust the exposure. It's optimized for exposure in the SX 70.

Got an e-mail a little bit ago saying that shipping has been reduced. Good thing -- I thought it was awfully (impossibly?) expensive. In the US it dropped five dollars. Glad I waited to order!

Good. It was exceedingly expensive ($11). I think it was gimmick to get you to buy more film. |

That is for USPS 1st Class post. The $6/11 through Impossible is USPS Priority Mail. Nice to have the shipping option. Thanks for the link. |

Okay, I have a Polaroid Sun 600 SE. It's from 1987 (50th anniversary edition). I think it has film in it. When I take a picture, it goes through the motions -- flashes and then starts trying to grind out a picture. But nothing comes out. I pulled the cartridge partially out, and there appears to be something in it.
So is sonething wrong with the camera or the film cartridge? What can I try to get it to spit out pictures? And is this film salvageable, perhaps? |

Brian, use a changing bag or your darkroom equivalent to take the film out. Then you can inspect the rollers. From I what I can tell with my SX70, the rollers are driven by the film cartridge so I'm guessing it's the film. I have a 600 One Step that a friend gave, I've not used it yet. I'll take a look at the mechanism.

I echo what Ben says; if the grinding sound you hear sounds sluggish, the battery power in the film pack might not be strong enough for the film to get ejected (from what you said I assume it came with the film pack it has now, and that is likely quite old). Or the film cartridge might in fact be empty. Try the camera with a fresh pack of film before giving up on it. |
