I am off to Crete for 2 weeks :-D
Staying in a hotel at Gatwick tonight then a 10:35am flight to Crete tomorrow morning, staying in Gerani, 14k west of Chania.
I was in Crete in 2005 but on the east side of the island. Did a day trip to Chania and I thought it was fantastic so I am going back.
Chania has plenty of photo ops so I will be boring you all with them when I return.
Going armed with my new kit - 7D - Tokina 11-16mm - Canon 17-40mm L plus my trusty Canon 70-200f4 L
However, looking at the weather forecast out there I may get some rain, never mind I will still enjoy myself !

Had a really great 2 weeks in Crete! Did a bit of sightseeing, Chania is a lovely town and went on a Jeep Safari up into the West Cretan Mountains.
Took loads of photos, some of which you can see here > Crete - Sept > Oct 2010

Well it's time for another holiday :-)
Off to Turunc  , Turkey for 2 weeks. Fly out early this evening.
I have been there several times before with my (ex) wife and have some good friends out there, so I am looking forward
to meeting up with them.
Just taking my Lumix LX5 rather than take my 7D plus lenses.
Will post some snaps when I get back.

Well that was a quick 2 weeks !
Had a lovely time, weather was hot for the first week then some thunderstorms for a few days, but they did not last long and the sun was out again.
I found the LX5 just right for my needs on this holiday, the only problem I had was the screen was hard to see sometimes in the sunshine.
