Some of you may remember I had several shows lined up...the last one was Starbucks in Niskayuna, NY in July.

Yesterday, I got a call from the Starbucks in Colonie, NY where I was scheduled for October--they had an earlier opening from a no show artist, and they wanted to fill their wall again, so I'll get 6 weeks this time.

Just hung them today...the space is smaller, but I packed them a bit tighter and got eight shots up...six from before, and two shots not up at the last Starbucks--Helderberg Fall and the small one of Cohoes Falls.

In fact, I think I'll go there after three weeks and change the set. It was much easier hanging this time than last--it only took me 45 minutes now that I had figured out a good way to do the Gallery Style hanging (there's a bar at the top, you have to hang from there).

So this is part 2 of my display "experiment". Part 3 is in November at a local (not a chain) coffeehouse...if it doesn't look like they three months generated a reasonable amount of sales, I'll take a different tack.

Here's a picture...now that I look at it, I don't know why we didn't slide things over a bit when we were done...we started on the left and worked to the right. I actually got more up there than I expected.

I also left two sets of my bookmarks for advertising, and of course business cards. So we'll see if web traffic picks up!

Nice setup. How did part one go? Did you increase your web traffic or sell any prints/canvases?

Looks great Neil! The canvas prints are beautiful- I'm looking forward to using my Groupon from Canvas On Demand and hope I get something that looks at least half as good as yours do. Good luck with the shows - hope they increase your sales/business!

It generated a six figure income--just that all 6 figures were zero. ;)

The past show generated some positive buzz but that's about it. When I was hanging there (and today) the Starbucks people raved about the photos, as did a few customers. It may be that they are "not inexpensive" that hurts. I used to list all the full size 16x20 or 16x24 canvases at $350. I lowered the price mid month in July to $250, but that didn't help. I also indicated regular prints were available and put pricing on the sign, but that didn't generate any sales either (I know because, again, I am using a separate website for sales from shows). I did see hits to that website pick up mid month, but no sales.

We ate lunch at the coffee house where I will be next month, and the photographer whose work was up was selling framed 11x14's for $150 and up. (Well they were for sale at that price--I don't know if he's selling!) But my prices are no different than my DPCPrints pricing, and I have had decent success there (but no canvas sales there, of course).
