I'm thinking of taking a field trip to Shenandoah National Park in Northern VA in a couple weeks. Can anyone recommend the best trails to take to get some nice shots? I want to get some waterfall shots, but would also like to try my hand at some wildlife (got a 70-300 lens I wanna try out = ).

If anyone knows of any good photo books on Shenandoah, please feel free to share. Also, on a side note, anyone know if sleeping in your car is allowed? I'd like to spend the night so I can get some sunset / sunrise opportunities.
Thanks for any suggestions

You can probably find everything you need to know here:PATC.

It's been a while since spent a lot of time hiking in the park, mostly just day trips in the last few years, but I doubt if you'd be allowed to sleep in your car. But there are many places to camp both in and near the park, and lots of inexpensive motels nearby. I'd reccommend Front Royal as a jumping off point.
