I want to answer a few comments, but first, thanks to everyone, and I took nothing personally except for the good comments:

My daughter was not injured or choked during the making of this, nor was it "posed". This scarf is one my her favorite playthings. I first tried taking photo of her sitting in a chair with this, but it did not really work.

I put her on our bed, on a dark green blanket. And I asked for her help (sounds more like hop in her language). I laid her on the bed, and covered her in it, and just let her play. I had to do this several times, shooting hand held at 1/50th, and I got about 3 good shots out of 25 or so. Many were blurred because of her movement.

The other two good ones actually look a lot like chiffon dream. My wife and I thought this would have more universal appeal. BTW: it makes a nice 8x10.

I was really worried about this being trashed for being a baby picture, but it wasn't. The creepy and freaky comments did not bother me, because it does look a little ghostly.

One person asked "why would you do this?" For a nice picture.

That was me. The picture gave me the heeby-geebies because the girl does look ghost-like in the picture. For me, the veil also acted as a strong symbol of stiffling repression, blindness, separation, etc. I understand that since you associate the picture with her play that you don't see these things when you look at the photo. Maybe if the photo was titled 'Playing Dress-up' or something I would have been able to see what you see. As it was, I couldn't understand why you'd want to compose an image of your child that conveyed the message I was getting. Make any sense?

I'm glad you didn't take the negative feedback personally. I've got favorite photos of my son that others don't especially care for too. All that matters is that you enjoy the pictures and they help to keep those precious memories alive for years and years to come.

Oh, and most importantly...your daughter's beautiful. :)
