My brother's looking at these two lenses, but I don't know anything about either. Does anyone have any input?
Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
It seems like the 18-200 would be much more interesting, but I thought the wider the range, the worse the quality (on the shorter lenses). Is that still true?

Yeah what he said, i mean both go to 200mm but that one starts at 18, and its IS which i think i heard are better??
Then again dont listen to me, im not exactly a genius haha

18-200mm is a better all around choice, as it's giving you your wide & telephoto. Also you're gaining IS from it whereas the 28mm does not have IS.
The only downside if he upgrades to a full frame it can't be used. |
