It would not be a huge leap of imagination to think that someday, in the not so distant future, this may be the basis for a camera implant. One that uploads wirelessly in real time.

Incredible...

I myself suffer from macular scarring from birth, so I find it terribly interesting.

Impressive!

I wonder if that would reduce red-eye? :-)
Actually, if they glowed red in the dark there would definetly be a Terminator-ish feeling.

That eye is just wonderful. Can't wait for the camera version. Just imagine - you wouldn't have to lug any equipment, or remember to pack it. And you could take all the pics you wanted without anyone noticing!

That's a very valid concern in today's paranoid society.

My main concern though would be forgetting to take the lens cap off. :-)

Lens cap = eye lid. Another beauty of it - you couldn't lose your lens cap.

Lens cap = eye lid. Another beauty of it - you couldn't lose your lens cap.
