just spoke to the editor .. the mag has been delayed and i'll probably get my advance copy in the mail early next week ..
i'm really hanging out to see it .. !!
he said they dont supply pdf's coz of copyright laws or wotever so he suggested i photograph the pages and show you guys that way .. i'll either photograph the pages or scan them and see if i can save them as pdf's .. wotever is the best quality i'll use ..
i'm open to any better suggestions .. :)

very excited .. the editor sent me two copies of Digital Photography which i received in the mail today .. 9 pages on my tips for photographing insects etc and 14 of my insect pics ... most of the shots you'd have already seen in dpc .. and dpc is mentioned in the article .. twice i think .. got to give credit where credit is due i reckon ..
now i've got to work out how to get it to you guys ..
it might just be easier to post it ..
some of the text is white on a medium background .. it reads ok in the magazine but i'm thinking photographing or scanning it mightnt be as readable ... also it would probably be better to get the actual magazine .. i've only had a quick look but there'd be heaps more that ppl might want to see than just my stuff ..
let me know ..

Roz, I'd love to have the whole magazine if that's possible. I wonder if I can get a copy through their web site or if I need to subscribe for a year and it would be included as my 1st issue? It's only $11.97 for 7 issues, if I have the correct mag site. Is this the one you're in?

hey carole .. no thats not the mag .. they arent online ..
its called Digital Photography .. issue 12 which i'm in focuses on macro and the entire magazine is devoted to that subject along with stuff about cameras and lenses etc .. issue 11 was on landscapes and 10 on portraits ..
i'll see what i can do about scanning or photographing the pages i'm in but the entire mag is great ..
its 116 pages tho so i wouldnt be scanning the entire thing .. !!

hey terrence .. thanx for the congrats .. its been the most awesome month .. the eureka win and now the magazine .. i got advance copies of the mag but it should be in newsagency now or in the next few days ..
the pics of me at eureka really stunk .. if i was the photographer i'd have deleted them and taken more coz i was pulling a really weird face .. pissed me off .. but i got over it .. !!!

i finally got around to photographing the pages of Digital Photography, the magazine i'm in .. scanning a printed magazine just doesnt work ..
when i wrote up the article i made many references to DPChallenge, not only for the images they featured that did well in challenges but just that it has been the most amazing place to learn all things photographic .. they kept most of the stuff i said altho they did edit it a fair bit ... if you know me at all you'd know i can be a bit long winded .. !! ..
also you would have seen most of the pics that are in the magazine article and that's because shooting for a challenge always made me extend myself and try for just that little bit longer to get a shot i was happy with .. mostly i dont have the patience .. insects can be quite annoying .. flitting here and there and never staying in one place for long ..
i've saved these as jpegs coz i couldnt see any way of putting pdf's in dpc ..
unfortunately the magazine is only sold in australia and new zealand .. if anyone overseas wanted to see the entire magazine/hard copy then i'm sure there'd be a way to organise it .. just let me know .. :)
