It's better than what I saw, which was clouds :-)

In the Bay Area we had intermittent overcast -- some of it was thin enough to shoot through, and there were occasional gaps ... most of mine have a little motion blur from longer exposures needed to offset noise at higher ISO. Except for the last (a 100% crop) the rest are just resized and sharpened -- shot at the equivalent of 436mm. I gave up at midnight when the clouds thickened and I couldn't see any gaps near enough to wait for.

Here are my two contributions to this thread...

We had horrible cloud coverage, so I decided on trying long exposures with a wide angle lens... The results are not thrilling, but also not terribly disappointing..

We had perfect viewing conditions. I had all my gear ready to go, and fell asleep about an hour before the eclipse, while editing wedding photos, so I went to bed for a quick nap and slept through the whole thing. : P

This wouldn't be allowed under the current advanced editing rules would it?
IT isnt any different to stacking shots for star trails.
Just wondering...

The ruleset limits us to 10 shots. So this wouldn't fly under advanced.

...and I didn't get any shots to contribute to this thread. :(

Out here in Anacortes, Washington it was cloudy out all night but I was able to get a few shots as the eclipse progressed. With the clouds and a constant light overcast at the minimum they did not come out overly sharp and it never did turn burnt orange at the end like the one a few years ago. But despite that I was able to make a composite and thought you might be interested.

While shooting the eclipse I took an occasional wide-angle shot -- this one shows the constellation Orion and the star Sirius in addition to the Moon.

Shot through fast-moving thin clouds, and there's additional motion blur from long exposure.

We must be neighbors. The last of my mostly-blurry shots was taken at 23:58:15. :)

additional shots uploaded to my portfolio (including super-grainy shots)
