I loved the perspectives. Especially the one at the photo number 9.

If your eyes and brain hurts looking at those photos, please refer to this one around 45 seconds, and go back to other images.

Might be an idea to carry a NSFW badge.. Great images - very powerful & moving - especially the one of the dead kids. To be honest, had to flick past that one. Its a Dad thing.

You should.

Living here, I can say that I see some of this... but another part I just see on TV or on the bloody newspapers. They are real, indeed, but I think that bad things happens everywhere, and if you dig it you will find it.

This is almost a fair vision of what a tourist will see in Rio (I wouldn't walk on the beach with the camera like that... sadly this could be an invite to a robbery).

And this is an over positive view (just to balance the pictures of the OP).

Rio is not the Wonderland. But it is wonderful.

I second ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' jotaga. You won't see this other side of Rio if you don't want. And those things are in our whole country in my opinion.
"O Rio de Janeiro continua lindo..." né não jotaga?
